I’m really curious how the Beatles biopics will perform at the box office in 2028. On one hand, The Beatles are arguably the most influential band ever, so the cultural importance is definitely there. And with how huge Michael has been, it’s clear music biopics are still a strong draw.
But I’m not sure the Beatles project will hit those same heights. Releasing four films at once feels like a big gamble, and I don’t know if younger audiences are as emotionally connected to the Beatles as they are to artists like Michael Jackson. It might still do solid numbers, maybe closer to something like A Complete Unknown but I don’t think it will reach the heights of Bohemian Rhapsody or Michael, I could be wrong but what are your thoughts?
Overall, it’s a fascinating experiment. The legacy is massive, but whether that translates into four successful box office hits is a different question entirely.

Wait they’re releasing all of them at once? I thought they were gonna do a yearly drop or something
I don’t think it’ll do as well because it sounds like more of an actual attempt to make a movie while Michael seems more focused on being a concert film.
Admittedly that’s just vibes, I haven’t seen Michael so maybe I’m wrong.
Could’ve been as huge as Michael if it was just a singular movie. Now that it’s four, the Paul & John movies will probably open to $50-60m, George’s will open to $35-40m and Ringo’s will open to $10-15m
I don’t really understand the release strategy. If they were to release a movie every week, I think they’d be pretty unlucky.
I think releasing all of them at once is a mistake. I think they all average around 225-300 million
Could’ve been a Michael level hit if they didn’t split it into 4 movies
I just hope it’s a better movie
