Should I consider Mario Galaxy an action movie? It has more action scenes than the average animated film.
People don’t really want much of the traditional typical action movie anymore. Looks at the box office performance of Mission Impossible 7 and 8. What other typical action movie can eclipse in popularity like Mission Impossible now ? John Wick, James Bond, The Accountant, Any Jason Statham movie ?
People now want action when it has mainly vehicles (Fast and Furious, Top Gun and Transformers), monsters or animals (Jurassic Park, Godzilla, Kong) or incorporated into other genres like superheroes.
You will see those typical action movies now have more reduced budgets.
Oversaturation on streaming ruined them theatrically the same way comedies did
