Daily Box Office (April 29th 2026)
The market hits ¥17.4M/$2.54M. Up +13% from yesterday and up +31% from last week.
Wang Changtian the chairman of Enlight Media gave some slight updates on some of the companies long term projects. Big Fish & Begonia 2 remains on a tentative 2028 date. A question about Ne Zha 3 and Monkey King 2 was answered with a PR "we have many long term projects in development and announcements will be made once they are done and release dates are rdy to be confirmed". So essentialy neither is really anywhere near completion. Not that there was much doubt. Monkey King 2 is likely 2028 at the earlist while Ne Zha 3 is a year if not 2 after that and closer to 2030.
On the live action long term from. Zhang Yimous Three-Body Problem movie is still in the script writting and pre-production stage.
As for more soon to be stuff. Supergirl has been confirmed for release in China. Jaws will be releasing on May 15th while Cristopher Nolan's Memento will be releasing on May 29th and will have IMAX screenings.
