I’ve long since accepted that as long as Tom Hanks and Tim Allan are alive, this franchise is gonna continue.

They probably should’ve waited to say that until after Toy Story 5 comes out.

His quote is very oddly specific so yeah I 100% think they will make more lol

I don’t know if that’s a good idea but I also kinda want Toy Story to tackle blind bag toys

We already missed the boat on 2 Toy 2 Story, but “Toy” and “Story” are still viable film names.

  6. Translation, “Pixar would like to make an extravagant amount of profits”. Toy Story is Pixar’s highest grossing franchise, at least one of their most valuable. And one of their most-beloved. No shit they wanna make more

this is what happens when people let every original film “barely break even” at best

  8. Dear God, just… just fucking stop.

Stop it, Disney. *Please.* This isn’t healthy.

  9. Things like this used to bother me (mostly the Simpsons) but then I realised sequels or reboots have zero bearing on my experience of the originals. None of it matters.

Ice Age and Toy Story battling it out for the highest number of mainline installments in a major animated franchise.

I don’t mind as long as the quality of the upcoming TS5 is good. Better than a gazillion fast and furious / marvel universe film.

  12. If they do, they have a good chance to make fun of modern day reboots with a Woody’s Roundup revival leading to a new toy line of the Roundup Gang, but the twist would be that the reboot is written by none other than Andy Davis, who incorporated One-Eyed Bart and Dr Pork Chop into the new show, who in turn have toys now based off of them.

  13. By all accounts Toy Story 5 is very Jesse-centric after 4 was very focussed on Woody. By that logic I’d assume a sixth entry would hone in on Buzz, which wouldn’t go unwelcome with how he’s largely been demoted to comic relief from the third film onwards. That would complete the Bonnie trilogy quite well.

I’m not sure where you’d go at all for a 7th entry, I’d think that would certainly be a bridge too far. At the very least, the franchise would need at least a decade after a sixth entry, but at that point you’re seriously risking a major cast member passing on.

  14. I’ve checked out of this thing at 3. Don’t get me wrong, they’re enjoyable..

But for Pete’s sake do something else Pixar, please. Give me Ratatouille 2 or something, I don’t care man.

Toy story 7 Bonnie becomes an anime figure collector, we’ll see Buzz fall in love with a demon with 9 tails and giant boobs

I wonder what brave new ideas they’ll tackle. Don’t think they’ll do a story where woody has to decide between staying with his friends or going elsewhere? Do you think they’ll do a story line where buzz loses his memories or identity? Maybe they’ll do a very nice character that ends up being the villain in an unexpected twist.

If original animation continues to be capped at <500M worldwide even when the movies open strong and the audience likes what they’re getting, yes, Pixar almost certainly will make a Toy Story 6 & 7. And a Monsters Inc 3, and an Incredibles 3, and a Finding Nemo 3, and an Inside Out 3…
