Mother’s Day was released 10 years ago this week. It was a box-office disappointment, grossing $48.8 million on a $25 million budget and was critically panned. It was also the last film from director Garry Marshall, who died three months after its debut.

That’s sad RIP Garry 😔
Fun fact: both Julia Roberts and Kate Hudson were nominated for two Razzies (Worst Actress and Worst Supporting Actress) in this film.

That Julia Roberts wig…..
Julia had beef with her hair stylist that day, there is no other explanation for this wig.
Maybe with digital, dvd, streams and ancillary it recovered budget eventually? Unless the audience didn’t like it. Do you have the cinemascore amd definite recommends?
Very weird trajectory for this movie. It actually increased 32% (!) in its 2nd weekend since this opened the weekend before Mother’s Day.
Jason Sudeikis is by no means a bad looking guy, but that photoshop job is just a wee bit much lol
This whole thing of making a movie for every holiday was terrible. The 30 rock parody was so funny though
TIL thats why we never got another Gary Marshall film.
