HSX analysis: IFC’s goal for moderate-wide theatrical releases is to boost their streaming platforms (e.g. AMC+ and Shudder), but have too much volume in terms of releases and now have lost trust with exhibitors.

The whole thing is pretty interesting from what I read. Basically IFC only choses the higher revenue theaters for the wide releases while the lower-middle revenue theaters get left out. It's why Faces of Death didn't get as wide of a release as IFC thought it would get.
