The two Michael B Jordan vehicles of 2027.
Miami Vice ‘85 sits on a $300M-$600M range for me. A big range and I’ll explain why. This lives and dies on the vibe they choose to go for and rating they go for. I’m mindful that the 00s version of this film flopped but that was mainly due to the artsy style that Mann chose. If Joseph Kosinski makes this feel like a must-see blockbuster IMAX experience with Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler carrying charismatic and sex appeal presence, it can push past $500M comfortably.
If it decides to go with an R rating I could see that limiting its potential. If they get Cruise for this as a villain it could go even further. If they get Pedro Pascal it could too. A lot of factors at play. Michael B Jordan confirms the black audience will turn out for this and I think the marketing having the director of F1 & Top Gun Maverick listed should help the international side.
The Thomas Crown Affair sits in the $220M-$400M range for me. This is all about charm and chemistry. If Michael B. Jordan pulls off that slick, rich, untouchable energy and the romance with Arjona actually hits (like how it did with Steinfeld in Sinners) this becomes a proper global date-night film and climbs into the $350-$400M zone. If it feels too slow or too niche, it struggles. The high end only happens if it clicks like a stealth Bond film and people go back to watch it again. The reaction to the footage at CinemaCon said this is an action film in the same vein as Tenet & Casino Royale. If the action hits it could perform like Tenet, if it doesn’t I could see this stalling on the lower end.

Another *Thomas Crown Affair* remake? Hollywood surely is DESPERATE.
***The Thomas Crown Affair*** would propel Adria Arjona to Hollywood A-List stardom if it’s a commercial success.
It will be more successful than *Wuthering Heights* this year.
I’m thinking *The Housemaid* numbers at least but should do half a billion if the movie really hits the zeitgeist like *Project Hail Mary* this year.
***Miami Vice ’85*** would more do more than the Micheal Mann version which only did $165M.
If they do cast Tom Cruise as the villain, then it has a possibility to do in the realm of *$500M+* range, probably matching the last two *Mission: Impossible* numbers.
