Premier in a few days and I’ve never heard of it. Anthony Mackie couldn’t carry a Marvel project with its built in hype machine. Feels like LIV Golf of movies.

So they make an Elden Ring movie for 100 million and this for 150? Sounds like a money laundering scheme

I forgot about this. Yeah, biggest flop of the year.
It does look like bad fun at least.

Apparently it’s a Saudi Arabian film, so I guess that explains the ridiculous budget as they throw money at anything

Anthony Mackie just isn’t a box office draw.

Is the movie about a warrior who defeats enemies with judgmental looks and side eyes?

From Wikipedia:
> MBC saw it as an anchor for the nascent film industry that was being established in the region, where key crewmembers were brought in for the project to effectively train and develop Saudi crews learning about the industry.[9][10] The crew size was approximately 450–500 people each day.
It looks like Saudi oil money was dumped into the production as a sort of training program to help create a local body of behind-the-scenes expertise for Saudi Arabia’s film industry.
The film couldn’t find a major US distributor, which is how you end up with a $150 million picture being released in the US by a micro-distributor.

Looks like a fun-looking bomb tbh. I love Sharlto Copley and “The 13th Warrior” vibes this is giving off. Do I expect it to succeed? Not a chance. Do I think it could be a fair amount of fun? Most definitely!
