The Jungle Book opened 10 years ago. The $175M film opened to $103.2M and made $364M DOM (3.5 legs) and $966.5M WW. A sequel was in development but was put on indefinite hold.

The box office performance in India is very surprising considering how this live action version and the animated takes place in India

It was here that Disney discovered their seemingly infinite money glitch

Still the best Disney live action remake to this day, and one that rivals or even blows the original out of the water.
Jon Favreau did an outstanding job with the visual effects. The animals and jungle all look so real.

This and *Cinderella* are still the two best Disney live action remakes to this day.

This is one of the FEW remakes I think that would’ve been successful had it not been a remake. The IP it’s adapting is known but not that beloved and it had very good legs

I enjoy this remake. Easily the best Disney live action remake. I sure wish The Jungle Book (2016) would join the $1 billion club. It could have joined with Zootopia 1 and 2, Captain America 3, Finding Dory, Rogue One, and the others.

I should probably see this one since apparently the 3d is amazing and it’s allegedly one of the few that improves on the original
Edit: I should probably add this was like Disney’s third or fourth stab at The Jungle Book IIRC

Hope they remake the sequel. I loved Junglebook 2 as a child

This was one of Disney’s cooler/more unique live-action adaptations. It was nice how they went with the grittier style and included more action, in order to complement the realistic capabilities of live-action.
