I really thought this film was gonna be a mild success but after those first second week and third week numbers, I knew this would be a major box office bomb. Sucks that we probably won’t get another mad max movie in a long time.

  1. Blade Runner 2049. Now widely considered one of the best sequels ever made.

The movie looked like dogshit compared to Mad Max. Of course it became a box office failure.

All time is Fantasia, because of the original issue in 1940.

Without rereleases I’d say Iron Giant.

    Recently: I guess Transformers One.

Live action: Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

I think the trailers are what helped to kill furiosa. When I saw the trailer I thought “oh God, this is going to be horrible” and I skipped it. It looked like a CGI infested bunch of nonsense. When I eventually watched it on cable I was incredibly surprised that it’s a great film in the Mad Max franchise.

It’s not my favorite box office bomb, but it shouldn’t have failed.

  5. Would Annihilation fit into this category? I loved that movie. The soundtrack and visuals were so intense in theatres
