oh fuck yes we’re getting found footage stuff in the film!

I think this is going to do over $200M domestic.. it’s the big breakout of the year I can feel it

Loooove that they’re doing the hybrid found footage/conventional style.
The atmosphere seems right on and it seems like they really did a good job of making the place feel legit.
Way more excited for this than pretty much any of the big summer blockbusters tbh.

I keep watching the trailers, but I just can’t seem to understand the appeal of the Backrooms in general. I don’t think this will fail but I really feel like its coming out a bit past the Backrooms popularity
I also wonder if the mix of found footage and regular will turn some away?

I will be impressed if this manages to be more boring and nothing than Handling the Undead.

I’m kind of shocked how confident this looks. A24 definitely has another hit on their hands especially if it delivers.

Could see this being a bit hit for A24.

Kind of crazy that tickets are already on sale, given that the movie comes out on May 29th.

This Will make alot of Money.
It even incorporated the Found Footage aspect

I have high expectations for this movie — the music they choose will be essential.

This will easily become A24’s biggest film to date.
Anyone who doubts that just doesn’t understand how popular the backrooms is as a concept.

Goddamn May is absolutely banging for horror films! Hokum, Obsession, and Backrooms with the first two already getting rave reviews. Big potential for all of them to be breakout hits…

Still going with 115-120 million WW. Which even if in a world in the film collapses on the second weekend, they’ll make their money back if the 15 million budget is true

first movie from Gen Z director to open number one at box office??

This will def be one of A24’s biggest hits. The backrooms are popular concept that at a ton of people have at least seen once. And overall this just looks well shot, the set design is so on point, and there are some very talented actors working on this. I’m think at least 150 million+
I’m very confident in Parson’s ability in horror too, if you haven’t watched the oldest view, you can already see just how skilled he is already.

As someone who’s watched Kane religiously, this quite literally looks like everything I wanted in a feature film version. I guess the question now is can this appeal to those who haven’t watched the YouTube videos? That will determine if this can beat Marty Supreme and become the new A24 box office champ.
