Very smart move to make it clear to audiences that Superman himself is going to be in this. I still have my doubts about how big a Supergirl movie can really be, but his inclusion will surely give it at least somewhat of a boost
Ah, there it is! I liked the first trailer well enough, but this one *really* showcases the angst and grit i was expecting from a Woman of Tomorrow adaptation. Hope it finds a place to shine in the summer bloodbath, it really has the potential to be something special!
Edit: r/boxoffice trying not to be insanely skeptical about the DCU for 2 seconds every time a new thing about it comes out:
I like this trailer a lot more than the first one, but idk I’m still not fully in. I will see the movie anyway, but yeah…

Now this DOES feel like **True Grit** with lighter tone. It has a promising director, so I’m hoping for the best.

Was surprised that Gillespie’s was name dropped in the trailer. Not that it won’t make any difference, but I doubt people know who he is considering he’s not a household name like James Gunn.

looks alright. with good wom it could maybe get to $400M ww but I’m expecting something in the $300-350M range unfortunately. hope i’m wrong and it breaks out

Did they put all of Momoa’s scenes in the trailer?

Good trailer. Not as colorful as I anticipated. Guess it’s not a direct adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow. Sill looks good though. Does a great job showing Kara’s angst and loneliness. Nailed the sombre tone. 2/3rd of Superman (411 million) should be the goal.

A much better trailer tonally than the first and seeing more of the planets she visits helps also. Millie looks fantastic and she seems like she will be a highlight of the DCU. I’m thinking 70 million opening weekend domestic is a good goal. Im pretty sure the budget is probably around 150 million so I think it will do more than break even.

Wish it had more colors. Even so, looks like a blast. Millie is such a great talent. But it does look quite derivative. Could harm the final gross if Craig and Gunn can’t separate it from GOTG.

I gotta be honest, this movie looks generic af in everything i’ve seen

Looks good. Hopefully we get more distinct worlds in the film though.

I’m more convinced by this film than by Superman.

It will be interesting to see how this does. A lot of people on Reddit, Film Twitter, and the Box Office Theory forums have been really pushing the idea that Superman was a pop culture phenomenon, that the DCU is the new top franchise, and was so well received that movies associated with it should do well just based on the connection. That IMO put more pressure on Supergirl and Man of Tomorrow to perform .

I’m guessing around $400M-ish still, perhaps Superman being in the film gives it a boost though.

Oh look… Another muted colour lacking trailer, not adapting the MAIN appeal of the comic this movie is based on is certainly a choice.

Way better than the first trailer. Feels more like Woman of Tomorrow for sure. Still a little too Gunnified for my tastes, but I guess that’s just what this universe is going to be.
Two trailers and no shots of Corrun (that I can tell) or the green sun. I hope those two bits are in the movie as they are so critical for Ruthye’s character development.

I mean if superman could make 615 mil after so much hype. This should maybe do half?
Domestically should do respectable numbers but int market is cooked for anyone not spidey or avengers. 370 mil WW in best case. Needs to have low budget.

Another piece of superhero live action content where the superhero doesn’t put on their suit until the end, nice

I’m sorry, but I just don’t think this is gonna be exciting anyone besides the core (and very small) DCU fanbase; just looks like Gunn’s reheated nachos from the Guardian films. We’ve already *seen* this style of film dozens of times.
This legit could be the DCU’s first flop

I know they regret not making Lobo the co lead of this. Seems like they used all of Momoa’s scenes.

I said before it that you can tell how worried they are by the amount of lobo in the trailer so I’d say medium.

It’s clever to show Superman in the trailer, but at the same time, giving away what would probably be one of the best cameos in the movie in the trailer seems like a sign of desperation lol

I feel like this sub is going to get unbearable when this movie comes out and when Dune/Avengers release, then they’ll play the victim when their comments are just toxic.

this feels like a mid MCU movie that would gross like $600M 10 years ago, but with the current state of things, will do somewhere between $350-400M. I predict a sort of inoffensive 70-75% RT score.

Will play like Furiosa to Mad Max and Ballerina to John Wick.
$250M-$300M WW.

I’ve never seen a place cry and moan so much specifically about just DC other than maybe r/snydercut
But I was attacked when I said this place was filled with marvel fanboys
Anyway, everyone saying it’ll flop is going to be surprised at how well this does. It’s not breaking the bank but it’ll break even

The more I see of this movie, the more I realize we ain’t getting the comic book adaption, oh well. I recommend everyone to at least go out and look at the art the comic book had, it is truly beautiful. I see it doing 350m-400m, which should be good for a budget around 100m.
Mr628 on
Looks solid. But due to competition and the overall state of the DCU, I don’t see it doing no more than $500M, and that’s a stretch.
Also, those are definitely the only action and Lobo scenes in the movie lol.
