First movie in the series to cross the 200 million mark, just in time for the 30th anniversary.

It’s incredible how much success this film has had considering the very loud opposition it had to endure every step of the way.

Being the second slasher ever to cross $200M worldwide, only behind Halloween 2018, makes this performance even crazier.

Sweet!
The inevitable eighth movie is going to be so much fun to track at the box office. Both its opening weekend as well as its legs in comparison to here.
Imagine telling somebody in 2011 that the 2020’s would have at least four more of these movies, hah!

It’s clear just having Ghostface doing some slashing is enough to guarantee a solid box office haul for a Scream film.

Very impressive milestone for Scream 7 hitting that mark despite the negative reviews

$200M mark, Wooo!

Impressive for what it’s going up against. Neve saved it. I still feel like if the writing was better and it didn’t have the controversies surrounding it it would have already made 250-300 million.
The longer people have sat with it, the more you’re seeing positive reception and the emotionally and faux morality charged negativity has died down.
There’s still flaws in the film and anyone that actually had issues with them are totally valid. But a LOT of the hate was coming from bad faith rhetoric and the general audience saw through that.

Yes, $200m+. Praise the lord. So much for supposed “bad” WOM. Wake up buddies. Internet people don’t represent what general audiences think.

Long term I think the lukewarm WOM will hurt Scream 8 and onwards until they straighten the ship out, but regardless this did well coasting off brand power

I think the positive reception of Scream 6 is doing some lifting here, so I imagine the inevitable Scream 8 will have quite the dip. We’ve got a Matrix Reloaded/Spider-Man 3 situation.

This was a beast. I might go see it after all.

The worst Scream makes the most money. Hope you’re ready for a bunch of crappy maudlin slashers.
At least Neve made it out with a bag.
