This might not break even?! Selling original animation to audience still seems like a challenge studios will have to work around.

Basketball is a very American sport lack of international performance doesn’t surprise me

Since Hoppers made it $240,000,000 in the worldwide, I guess Disney Pixar are using the Uno reverse card at Sony Animation, Due to Goat was struggle with international

With The Super Mario Galaxy Movie set to open big within 1.5 weeks from now, it looks like Goat will finish around $185M-$200M WW (around TMNT Mutant Mayhem and If range) that is so close of breaking even especially with South Korea and Japan has no confirmed release dates for Goat

I wanted it to hit 200 but I don’t think the markets left to release in will be enough. Sony needs to build on the IP from here, bring in more sports I think would be the smart play because it has the juice. And domestic at least its doing well enough that with a strong streaming debut it can justify further entries.

Oh damn. But I think Australia and more other releases will may try to help make $200M worldwide. It will absolutely make $100M for domestic

  7. It is gonna be a difficult ride for 200M WW. I think Sony will still consider a sequel tho

If the grosses for *Hoppers* and *GOAT* were reversed, we wouldn’t hear the end of it from animation Twitter and YouTube (“Sony Animation DESTROYS Disney at the Box Office!”).
