Looking at about $80M opening, final domestic total will probably be around the level of Dune: Part Two / Sinners

    WOW. Amazing overperformance!

80M-85M domestic opening should happen now.

It is guaranteed to pass 100M and 200M domestic thanks to strong audience reception.

Lmao My prediction was that this would do 175m WW at best and would do Furiosa numbers for OW if it was lucky. Yall can look it up, this and Hoppers were my predictions for biggest flops this year.

I love how wrong this year has proven me so far. I now won’t be so dismissive of bigger budget movies that aren’t based on known IP. I’ll be skeptical of course but I’ll no longer immediately assume a flop.

Also looks like I greatly underestimated BND both based on the online hype and irl hype I’ve seen. I was saying that’d do slightly better or worse than FFH and was 60/40 on if it’d hit 1b. Tbh the sheer unreal hype I’ve seen irl in my circles and at work now has me thinking 2b may be a possibility.

Don’t think it’s gonna get to 300M, thinking more 260-280M, which is still a great result

    80 mil plus opening!

This is the perfect example of good word of mouth affecting opening. It grew its numbers every week. The legs will be exceptional.

Guys, you wouldn’t believe how much a good audience score can carry a movie especially a sci-fi movie. The fact it got an A alongside dune part 2, it’s clear that this movie will be successful now.

Outstanding opening day that should open above $80M opening weekend and should find its legs compared to other space films like The Martian, Interstellar and Gravity

  9. the difference between last year’s box office in march and this year’s box office is insane. Great year for theaters incoming.
