SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY first trailer has broken GTA 6 trailer 24h record (475M) in less than 12 hours to become the first trailer in history to hit 500M views in less than 24h.

Sony is expected to report the official numbers this Thursday.

    1. How are views counted: if you just looked at the post or if you watched at least half of the video?

    2. Strange, I thought no one cared about Marvel anymore. It’s worth considering that the trailer has been posted on many profiles and fans have probably seen it hundreds of times, but at this point, Avengers is crashing the internet entirely.

This will be the second highest-grossing film of the year.

    3. That’s wild. I knew the trailer would be big but I didn’t realize it would be THIS big.

    4. … and people dissed Sony’s marketing strategy of releasing tiny snippets on IG one day before. *eyeroll*

I thought the trailer itself was just fine, not flat-out amazing like the one for Dune 3. But the marketing campaign definitely went off to a great start.

Just another reminder that Sony would never sell the rights to Spider-Man as much as people cry about it. And I would forever stand by the fact that we wouldn’t have gotten the spider verse movies if spider man was owned by Disney.

    6. And this, children, is why Sony will *never* sell Columbia/TriStar without selling the whole damn thing. Those numbers guarantee a $750 million global ***floor*** – final probably being a lot larger than that. They. Love. Spidey.

And if they sell SPE? Disney reclaims the Webhead for good under the new contract.
