Whatever his legacy, you can’t deny he made some pretty company-defining moves:

    – Purchased Pixar
    – Purchased Marvel
    – Purchased Lucasfilm
    – Purchased Fox
    – Built Disney+
    – Major expansions to every Disney park
    – Increased cruise line capacity massively

Disney’s future is far from secure, but an underrated sign of its strength is it’s the only major film studio that has never been acquired by another company. They’ve truly stood the test of time in a way many others couldn’t.

It’s so funny to be getting all these retrospective articles again because of his biggest failure as a leader: choosing the wrong successor.

  3. Disney buying Marvel Studious in 2009 for $4 billion and Lucasfilm for $4 billion in 2012 was a steal.
