This is very impressive, personally. So many indie dramas like this end of hardly passing the 50m WW. So 100m is solid.
Fifth Best Picture nominee this year to gross $100M (the others of course being Marty Supreme, Sinners, One Battle After Another, and F1)
This is actually the most nominees have grossed $100M since 2019 when Parasite, Ford v. Ferrari, Little Women, Joker, Jojo Rabbit, 1917, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood all made over $100M.
Great numbers even if I’d like to see audience awarding even more original and bold stories. Let’s say it , this movie is very good but it’s also a success thanks to the Oscar campaign and the very relatable and dramatic story. I would say a movie like Marty supreme or Bugonia or Eddington are often more difficult to engage with for the general audience . Hamnet is the usual movie that can hit theatres totally unnoticed or become an easy success with the Oscars
Great result film deserved it.
