“While moviegoing appeals to less than half of those born from 1965 to 2012, it is gaining traction among those born in 2013 and after, according to a report from industry tracker National Research Group. It estimated 59% of children in that age group preferred to see a film on the big screen.”

  1. The next generation has seen the light. Remember that the next time Sony offers you stupid money to release Huntr/x’s next adventure in theaters worldwide, Netflix.

Would those born 2013 and after even be buying their own tickets? This seems like a bit of a nothing burger article. Yes in the current media landscape we know that family (animation) movies perform better at the box office because parents are the last bastion of consumers willing to spend money, money on their children.

I don’t think kids liking movies in theaters is any indication they’ll continue to like it as teens or adults.
