Giving an $80 million budget to a film like this was the biggest mistake.
Artsy movies are already hard to convince audiences, but an artsy movie that is not that good is pure box office poison
Probably will be one of those bombs that’s largely forgotten because of how quick theaters will be willing to drop it.
I’m not an opening weekend kind of guy but I definitely intend to see this. Looks great.

Also, lesson is don’t try to cram so many things together, the trailers were just a mess and felt like they were scared to do a Bonnie and Clyde type of story so they were like uhh whats gaining attention right now? Frankenstein! Use Frankenstein!
Like Mickey 17, it’ll come and go. I’m sure some people who complain about Hollywood lacking originality while never watching original movies will continue to ask why this failed But other than that, life will move on.
with that budget it was never going be break even/be profitable
