what about ORIGINAL animated movies with Talking Animals? THEN Hoppers is a good contender for top 10 of it.

Hey all, I’m back with another graph. With Hoppers releasing soon, I wondered what were the most successful films to feature animals as the main characters.

    Here are some interesting facts:

    * Of the 21 films listed, Dreamworks has the most with **7**, thanks to the Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda films. WDAS comes in 2nd with **5** films, and 3rd is Blue Sky (rip), with **4** films.
    * 2016 was a banger year for talking animals, with *Zootopia*, *Finding Dory*, *Secret Life of Pets*, and *Sing.* Heck, even *The Jungle Book* live-action remake released that year.
    * There are 7 movies that feature a lion character.

The 2000s was the pinnacle of talking animal animated movies. Shrek, Ice Age, and Madagascar were among the biggest throughout the decade.

2006 had Over the Hedge, Barnyard, and Open Season, and Kung Fu Panda was just starting two years later.

Surprised Shrek isn’t in the mix considering they do have a talking donkey and cat as main characters. Ogres are likely classified as humans but the franchise has anthropomorphic animals.
