Hi, I just finished my end of year review of all things streaming ratings in the US and I wanted to share the Top 20 out of the 120 new films (theatrical and straight to streaming) that managed to get into Nielsen's Top 10 in 2025.

Only 2 (maybe 3) are decent/good.
Also, the majority of that “content” (I’m using Netflix’s lingo) being straight-to-streaming, tells a lot about the platforms’ main output.
First time I’ve heard of Back in Action
Look at KPDH’s growth. Despite being readily available on Netflix, it didn’t make a big splash in its first few weeks, but WOM steadily grew and it is now the most streamed film ever on Netflix.
I don’t think Kpop Demon Hunters would have replicated that level of success if it had released in theatres.
