
HAIL, CAESAR! open 10 years ago this week. The comedy mystery film written, produced, edited, and directed by the brothers Joel and Ethan Coen grossed $63.66 million against $22 million budget. It received Oscar nomination for production design.

one entire decade without a Coen bros movie being given a wide theatrical release (emphasis on “bros”).
This is why the state of cinema is in collapse mode. /s
Assuming Jack of Spades gets released this year by a theatrical studio, it will probably be the first time in a decade that a very well received movie with the Coen name attached gets a wide theatrical release (Joel’s solo career seems in better shape, which is why im betting on a strong reaction to this movie)
