If you all go over to the Movie Theater Employees sub, many are reporting that their screenings are selling out and people that are attending are lots of old people.
it’s sellout shows in daytime, and then any shows after 9pm have ZERO tickets sold. I know elderly go to bed early, but still, kinda odd.
Also, I’m seeing rows of seats completely blocked out, not even one stray seat available in there – which feels like someone bought out all the tickets as opposed to it naturally selling out.
I’m genuinely curious if these sold out shows in big cities actually have full audience or if it’s just tix bought.

For reference, here’s the turnout in one of LA’s most popular cinemas, AMC Century City, tonight. This theater is in the heart of one of the Bluest, most anti-Trump cities in the country..and yet the 6:45 is nearly sold out.
My sister went to see a different movie today and said she saw a large group of older women at the theater all dressed up in sequined shirts with makeup and hair done. Has ‘Melania’ turned into some sort of event movie for the old crowd? (For the record, my sister is 50 and she said these women were obviously older than her, so we are talking Boomers, maybe even Silent Gen.)
ETA: she lives in the suburbs of a fairly liberal city

Independent on my political views(or lack of them), this movie’s concept seems kind of boring. Melania Trump is not a particularly interesting, eloquent, impactful or outspoken political figure compared to past First Ladies. But political tribalism might get people to the theatre for the sake of it, regardless of quality.
From a business perspective this film was a move from Bezos to curry favor with The White House, so I imagine they expected a loss of money here. I doubt this has the legs to get to the 40 million they paid for the rights(nevermind any additional costs), since these kind of films tends to be pretty front loaded.
