Had some fun with this, but it didn’t have the same emotional impact or stakes like the first two.

It’s strange because the first one is humor filled with dark moments, second one was a lot darker, and this feels more lighthearted with hardly anything dark.

While not as great as the first two Kung Fu Panda films, it was good and enjoyable which I remember seeing the new Kung Fu Panda film in theaters when I was 13 since I hasn’t saw the previous 2 films during my childhood

After 8 years of waiting, the new Kung Fu Panda film arrived in 2024, but I was very disappointed on the supporting characters absent and the storyline changing including the villain that was lackluster to the franchise

  3. One of the rare “good” January blockbuster films. I really wish that other major January releases were as good as this.

  4. After watching 2 months after it came out this was probably my most anticipated film between those years

  5. Visually 3 might be the best of the franchise. The Chi and spirit world stuff allowed for some pretty fun scenes.

But the heart wasn’t all there. The villain was a nothingburger with a cool theme song, and the movie also straight up repeated Po’s character arc from the second film.

I remember having to skip this because I just started college again at that time. Finally watched it at home a year later. Because it was a bad time in my life I didn’t retain anything and rewatched it when 4 came out. It’s not as strong as the first two as it kind of falls apart near the end but it’s a very good way to cap that trilogy.

Financial wise I was excited to see what it would do in China, since it is one of the few films lip sunching was done for two different languages. Little did I know it did alright but a little film called Zootopia which wasn’t made in China as a result of the predecessors being loved by the country crushed it
