Oh ‘Mercy’ — A Cold Spell Froze Out the Box Office This Weekend, but It Can Get Worse – Amazon MGM’s thriller starring Chris Pratt was the lowlight of this frigid January, but last year had five weekends with lower domestic totals than this one.

There are several films this year I can see tanking. Honestly, outside of *Project Hail Mary* and *Sheep Detectives*, MGM’s whole 2026 slate is commercially problematic at best, and I expect *MOTU* to be a straight up disaster. Could I be wrong? Of course. But I just can’t see that (likely) piece of shit making any money. And while some might say the same about Warner’s stuff, *The Bride!* and *Wuthering* look interesting enough to stand out from the crowd.

Think the East Coast snowstorm next weekend will affect some of the box-office as well. We just can’t catch a break lately.
