I know that Amazon said they aren’t signing any Bond directors on for multi-picture gigs, and will assess it on a film-by-film basis, but Villeneuve helming the next Bond (and possibly one or two sequels after) is a very smart move by his team.

If that Bond film (and any sequels) hit as big as expected, his metrics should swing him into “most bankable directors” territory.
