Smart move. I know the first 2 films ended around ~$10 million each but both really blew up in popularity after they hit streaming and interest in one led to interest in the other and vice versa. Both Pearl and X did incredibly well during A24 re-releases this past year in my area. I know a lot of people who missed both both during the original runs who have been counting down to MaxXxine, and while I don’t see this being massive I could easily see this getting to around $30 million total if the quality remains consistent. Horror has definitely been underperforming this year but there’s definitely room for something to finally break out.
