  1. > So no one is better equipped to create a new Batman cartoon than B:TAS co-creator Bruce Timm — but he wanted to do things very differently this time.

    > The best way to do that, they decided, was to make the new show fully a ‘40s-set period piece, rather than repeating the anachronistic jumble of computers and pay phones that defined B:TAS.

So not very different at all then?

Yawn. Let me know when we have a Pacific Islander Batman. Until then it’s just racism.

Unrelated to the fact that she’s Asian-American, that’s one weird looking Harley Quinn…

Looks like Bruce Timm is doing another take on Harley to go against the modern portrayal. Like when he made her an unrepentant serial killer in Gods and Monsters.

I’m all for any form of media that remembers Harley Quinn first and foremost.

  6. It’s weird how they want to root it in the 40s, but a lot of the changes revealed thus far make it quite clear it was a product of 2024

It’s annoying that they reduced this new Harley Quinn to “Asian American” in the headline since that’s the least important thing: she’s a whole new take on the character, meant to be scarier and independent from the Joker. But that won’t get rage clicks.
