Fuck Youthforia. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and working to fix it, they limit their comments over their social media. The fact that some beauty brands still don’t know how to be inclusive is astounding.
Some good news is that I came across Golloria’s TikTok through her viral video calling out Youthforia and now I am learning about so many inclusive brands that have a depth of shade range.

Didn’t the founder post a TikTok of themselves running around a mall trying to find random Black people to “street cast” as models for that shade? IIRC they still couldn’t find anyone it would suit.
edit: this is the person they claimed it would work for, that’s the swatch on their forehead lmao
They need add more yellow or red to that shade. The way it is, it’s just going to turn even the darkest person grey. There isn’t any proper undertone to make it an actual human skin tone lol

This is the best breakdown I saw about this lazy paint
Youthforia was disrespectful and they know it. I’m glad they’re being called out

So they didn’t have dark enough shades, people complained.
Then they released darker shades and now people are ripping them apart for being too dark.
Based on the comments it seems like people think this brand either unintentionally made a bad product OR was ‘chasing clout’ by trying to have the darkest foundation on the market.
Can someone help me understand why either of those merit the hate being showered on this company?
Like if you want more companies to carry a broader range of foundations for darker skin complexions, how does ripping a company to shreds for trying to do that help the situation?

Yeah after seeing the video with the woman in the pic trying face paint and this ‘foundation’ I have zero doubt that this was created in extremely bad faith
