    1. Cara Buono! Nice…

Kinda felt like they gave a big chunk of the plot away, but this seems to be more of a character driven story, so it’s alright, I suppose. And Eisenberg has shown he can direct a very performance oriented role well, but I think the bigger challenge for him here is composing music and lyrics.

Overall, I’m looking forward to it.

This looks fantastic. Between The Holdovers and his segment on Black Mirror, Paul Giamatti has been on a run lately and this looks like that’ll continue that

There’s something so comforting about Giamatti’s presence. I can’t wait to see this and Jesse Eisenberg is incredible.

Also Emma Stone produced. I’m so seated

    4. This looks amazing. It could be very light hearted and funny, but I could also see it getting a bit dark. Watching those two play off of each other is going to be a treat.

    5. I haven’t seen his first film but A Real Pain was moving and way better than I anticipated. Eisenberg definitely has a talent for a directing.

I don’t go to A24 movies to feel good……WHAT’S THE UNHINGED TWIST????

    7. You’re a dame and I’m a fella.

Stanley, stop, or I’ll tell Stella.

All I want is one embrace.

I’ll twist this bottle in your face.

Wow Jesse Eisenberg honestly might be an underrated talent right now, he wrote the music and lyrics for this too, didn’t know he had that in his arsenal

    9. The mindfuck of Jesse Eisenberg directing himself to act like an actor who is asking another actor acting like a director about whether or not the actors are essentially being directed properly is funny enough by itself.

    10. I’m really hoping this one is great, as I love the cast. Eisenberg last film was very good. I love these type of films based around characters doing small local plays, something comforting about them.

It looks great, but I wish Hollywood wasn’t so in love with making movies about itself.

I love Jesse Eisenberg as a director-writer-actor. I love Julianne Moore. I’m indifferent to Paul Giamatti(haven’t seen enough of him in stuff) but he looks amazing here. I love a dramedy. This looks amazing. Strong potential to be best film of the year(for me personally).

Has Giamatti always looked like Frank Langellas little older brother or is that a recent development

    14. This looks like it’s going to be really good and I can’t wait to see it. Such a great starring cast with Julianne, Paul, Jesse and also Halle Bailey. The later who I am surprised isn’t also mentioned as starring.

I’m curious to see how far Giamatti’s character will drive Julianne crazy, especially after seeing the shot of her basically electrocuting herself while committed to the production

I got really excited that they remade the 2001 film The Debut but recast all the Flipino actors with old white people. Disappointed.

Damn this looks very interesting and seeming like it could be a big and great performance by Julianne Moore.

Love me Giamatti but he’s been playing a lot of villains/nasty people. I really hope that in this film he’s a hardass but is truly supportive of the MC and doesn’t turn against them.

It’s always wonderful when actors turn to directing/writing. Perhaps it’s the themes of stageplay and the way the trailer is cut but IMO I am getting Bird Man vibes in that this movie looks captivating and you’re in it from start to end.

This looks great. And I don’t say stuff like that LOL I’m really looking forward to seeing it!

Sorry, I’m going to sound like I’m dumbing it down. She’s a church mother who auditioned for a local production headed by a renowned regional director. Yes, they each want the best performance from her, but at the end of the day, if she’s not being paid for it, it’s community theatre and you do the best you can, but have fun.

Giamatti’s character is forcing through her what he wished he achieved.

Giamatti, when he’s playing these characters that are a little bit of a douche (most of them really) is a treasure, and Juliane Moore is always interesting. Hoping this isn’t paint by numbers.

That Black Mirror episode with Giamatti will stick with me forever.

Admittedly, I found A Real Pain to be overwritten and pretentious while still mildly enjoyable. But I will definitely give this movie a try. Julianne and Paul never let me down.

I’m excited to see Julianne in this! She’s one of my favorites. 🍿
