Comics Unleashed isn’t MAGA coded, it’s just lame and has a knack for showcasing hacky comedians.

The article leaves out that the entire show is a paid placement. Byron Allen’s company gets to sell the ad time. The ratings it draws have no effect on CBS’s revenue. It’s a bad metric, but it doesn’t affect the network’s bottom line.

Wow, maybe billionaires aren’t a guaranteed win just because they are billionaires. I know, I know, this is a heretical thought nowadays.

In what way is it “MAGA-coded?”

Listening to Byron Allen interview about this replacement you can tell the man just wants money.
His replacement of the Colbert time slot doesn’t mean anything but another pay check.
“I’m not a businessman, I’m a business…. Man” feeling.

All of this late night BS has been over for a long time. It’s all internet clips. No one stays up to watch these shows in real time.

It’s a stupid headline.
I salute Byron Allen’s drive and his incredible success as a media mogul.
But Comics Unleashed is the most comedy-free show on TV.
If the comedians riffed off each other and showed spontaneity, this could be an exciting show. Instead it’s 3 male and 1 female comedians, each with a canned 3-minute bit to do before Allen turns to another panelist to get his/her rehearsed bit. Then back through a second time and show’s over.
Allen’s confidence in buying the CBS airtime and owning 100% of the ad revenue is a balls move, but I wonder how long before smaller affiliates instead carry his shows at 3am and lead out of the local news with reruns of Friends or Big Bang, anything which could hold onto more late-night viewers and retain the ad sales locally?

CBS doesnt care. Byron Allen is PAYING FOR THE SPOT. So they get paid regardless of the ratings.

Best thing to do is not watch CBS. As an ad agency I’m not buying cbs tv time in the Seattle market. When that gets back to corp and enough people do it money will talk.
