Hopefully this means we’re a step closer to Paddington appearing on Taskmaster.

Wow. Didn’t expect Iannucci at all
I don’t think Paddington in Peru was as good as the other two so I’m not sure on the director returning. Though I think the plot was the main issue with the last one so it might not be a bad thing to retain the director if the writer is changing.

Armando iannucci writing a paddington movie is literally the wildest mad libs sentence i have ever read in my life tbh. i am absolutely here for it though.

It’s just *The Death of Stalin* again, but with Paddington switched in to one of the roles (don’t care which, as long as Jason Isaacs stays)
Also, I’m hoping with their Taskmaster connection that Iannucci writes a part with Kumail in mind

Initially I thought Iannucci was a bit of an odd choice, but then I remembered he made The Personal History of David Copperfield. It had the same vibes as the Paddington films, so he should be able to pull this off.
I hope they stick to London for this one – I think the Britishness of the first two really elevated them.

Given Peter Capaldi is a villain in at least the first two, i hope Iannuci gets to write a big sweary monologue for him again

Armando Iannucci + Peter Capaldi reuniting? They need to channel a bit of Malcolm Tucker in Paddington 4.

Can we then switch Capaldi’s character to that other Iannuci character he’s well known for?
Because Paddington Bear meeting Malcolm Tucker is just too good to be true.

He’s missing a trick if he doesn’t do some sort of Crocodile Dundee 2 homage 😁

I’m now trying to imagine a conversation between Paddington and Malcolm Tucker, or what Paddington’s role would have been in The Death Of Stalin…

There’s been a massive, irretrievable marmalade loss.
