David Duchovny and Michael McKean did this mirror gag in an episode of X-Files. Season 7 or 8. Groucho got it from them I believe.
Famously, Groucho was ill one night and couldn’t go on for the brother’s Vaudeville act. Harpo painted on the moustache and took over. Not only did nobody notice but he also got bigger laughs, so Groucho made sure that he was never ill again.
