> “He just looks at me [at the door] and says, ‘Hey there, you’re that fella that made Lord of the Rings aren’t you? Lord of the Rings that was great man, that was a fantastic film’. I said ‘Yeah, oh thanks.’

What a bawler, Is this a safe space to say that King Kong 2005 is very well shot but is hard to revisit because its over abundance of… everything… like its a movie with no self restraint so way too many of the action scenes go on way to long and this is also the problem with the final LOTR movie but at least that didn’t have King Kong and Dinosaurs playing on the swings. Like my mom and my sister and my sisters friend and her mom and me all piling into the car after my friends birthday party to see King Kong is etched into my brain as a core memory but its like… really boring as an adult.

Peter Jackson looks like they have a gun to his dog’s head in a lot of the behind the scenes interviews for that series. Poor guy.

I liked the Hobbit movies more after I headcanoned that The Hobbit the book reflects the events in There And Back Again by Bilbo Baggins and is the in world historical primary source for these events and is mostly accurate.
The Hobbit The Movies is the story the Dwarves tell in bars about it ten years after the fact and they keep adding more and more things and inserting themselves in more and more historical events when people ask them if they were there as they’re telling the story in pubs.
