Look, if celebs and other people in Hollywood don’t want billionaires and the ultra-wealthy restricting free speech, they’re going to have to actually start advocating for wealth and income equality. That’s the only way to not have fascism.

Even within their industry (film and TV), there’s a huge gap between crew, low-level talent and A-listers.

The concentration of wealth and power is what gets us here. They advocate for every cause under the sun, not acknowledging that the system they benefit from is what’s threatening all of our rights and funding all of the wars.

They like the system fine enough, so long as it makes them richer and more successful. I’m so sick of the hypocrisy.

ETA: We really need to raise the bar, because it’s in hell. None of your faves, even the ones willing to speak out on Palestine, are fighting the real fight.

We should be able to like people’s work while simultaneously dissecting the way celebs get to virtue signal in a way that keeps us giving them money while the world burns.
