How does one prevent this kind of thing? I would think a vpn but it would slow everything down.
If this isn’t a sign that society is failing us, I don’t know what is.
Just the fact that she is doing this to pay for treatment out of pocket is already messed up enough. To be swatted? Where’s the humanity?
Those callers should be charged with attempted murder. Swatting has gotten people killed, and it’s impossible to do a “prank” like this without some awareness that the resulting police response could be deadly.

Grandma raising money to pay for her grandson’s cancer treatment. Grandma being terrorized for doing so. Every part of this is just ghoulish and completely American.
