I’ll always love the bit in Tropic Thunder when the director played by Steve Coogan gives a huge speech after landing in the jungle about making the best move ever made, just to step on a land mine. It’s not entirely pointless since his death means everyone still thinks they’re safe, but it’s always hilarious.

That poor PA in Jurassic World whose death is longer than the rest of her screen time.

The scientist played by Alan Cumming who got frozen at the end of “Goldeneye”.

    4. Perhaps the dog in The Lost World.

We don’t see it consumed, but the rex having the chain to its collar in its mouth and the dog house falling and breaking says everything.

    5. The death of “Cowboy” in McCabe and Mrs. Miller(1971). I wrote an entire post about it on a different sub a few weeks back.

Very similar to Shea Whigham’s death, I’ve always enjoyed the military officer in **The Blob** remake—the one who “pissed it off””—spitefully pulling the pins on the grenades on his vest as the Blob falls onto him. And then a moment later you see them go off—bip, boop, two silent little lights flash deep within the rampaging Blob’s mass.

Steven Seagal in Executive Decision. Still probably my favorite film death.

Killing Johnny Cage in the opening minutes of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

The most annoying one was Polka Dot Man in The Suicide Squad. Just done for shock value.

    10. This is going to be a stretch because it almost certainly is in the movie because it actually happened in real life, but Orlando Bloom’s death in Black Hawk Down always gets me.

Ernie Hudson in *Leviathan*. He went through hell to make it to the surface only to be needlessly killed by the creature seconds before the credits roll.

      Feast (2005) :
Yeah? Who the hell are you?!
-I’m the guy that’s gonna save your ass- (monster kills him suddenly)

    13. “Aim for the bushes!” – the two hero cops jump to their deaths in The Other Guys

    14. Killing CGI Edward Furlong’s John Connor in the first 2 minutes of Terminator Dark Fate.

Just have the timeline reset or something. Don’t negate the entire point of T2. And in such a throwaway manner.

    15. I had to pause the other guys for like 45 minutes after the opening segment

The CIA guy’s death in 2017’s The Predator. His death happened so quickly and was so stupid that I almost missed it. He was one of the more interesting characters in the movie too.

Marvin getting shot in the face in *Pulp Fiction.* The poor guy survived a shootout only to die in a random act of carelessness through no fault of his own, and his own allies treat his death more like an annoying inconvenience than an actual tragedy. Jules and Vincent are more concerned about getting cleaned up than they are about the fact that Vincent just accidentally killed a guy.

Dr. Evil’s henchman getting runover by steamroller. Austin Powers.

    19. Adrienne Barbeau’s in Escape From New York. Like… she didn’t do anything to stop the Duke and just gets killed by the car…
