Jon Stewart Predicts ‘Joyful Noise’ When Trump Is Finally Gone

Late-night host Jon Stewart has delivered a statesmanlike speech on how he believes voters will feel when they finally “repudiate” the stranger-than-reality TV show that is the second Donald Trump administration.

“I mean this from the bottom of my heart—not just for this show, but for the country,” Stewart told fellow host Stephen Colbert in a guest appearance before Colbert’s Late Show franchise is retired by CBS.

“The day, the day—oh people, close your eyes and dream—the day that the electorate in this great nation we call home repudiates this putrid administration, the day that happens, my brother!” Stewart said, to rousing cheers from Colbert’s studio audience.

I was walking on homemade stilts the moment I was told Elvis died. I was watching SNL when I found out Princess Diana died in a car crash. I was watching the news getting my daughter ready for her first day of kindergarten when the first plane hit the WTC on Sept 11th. I have realised there is a brand of American who desperately wants to pretend this is a temporary confusion from voters.

They truly think it’s a blip and one day it will simply go back to normal. Despite all evidence showing a permanent abandonment of democracy by republicans in southern states.

They are not coming back – in fact its clear they never really believed in America anyway.

It’s so exhausting that people still think Trump supporters can be saved, and they don’t realise it’s a war.

I’m gonna take off work and get drunk as shit.
