8 seasons of Rick and Morty and a movie before we get Community’s six seasons and a movie. Sad.

Jacob Hair, the supervising director for the show is directing the movie

Hair was the director on “The Old Man and the Seat,” “Rattlestar Ricklactica,” and “The Vat of Acid Episode.”

      Harmon:

      >“I got to go get a coffee (laughs). We saw the same leak, and we are therefore, now able to confirm that there is a movie in the works. Jacob Hair is, is the director. I mean, we didn’t shop around. He is an absolute, to say rock star is honestly feels like trivializing it because that implies like some kind of flash in the pan, kind of exciting. I mean, Jacob has it like came onto our team. It was like adding a pillar to it.”

Could do well. As someone who kind got over the show after a few seasons, I’d buy a ticket to a movie version.

Can anyone think of any story elements that haven’t already been thoroughly explored and concluded other than the McDonalds Mulan nugget sauce?

    5. I know they won’t.. but I really hope they just end the series at season 10.

    6. The evil Rick storyline could have made a good movie, but they used it for the show. I could see some kind of evil Morty storyline for the movie, though.

reminds me of this year’s Mandalorian movie (in that it’s several years too late)

The current aren’t seasons aren’t horrible, but they give an aura like their past their golden age. Each season has like 1-3 absolute banger episodes. Maybe itll be good, we will see

I feel like this would’ve been way more relevant like five years ago

This show and solar opposites hasn’t been the same since Justin Roiland got fired

Here’s a fun thread with a bunch of people making themselves feel like a cultural arbiter for not liking Rick and Morty anymore.

We get it, it has passed out of the mainstream. There’s still plenty of people who like the show and this movie will do well.

I don’t think the community movie is honestly ever going to happen.

I’m sure it will be fun but they’re not exactly striking while the iron is hot are they? This should have come out several years ago.

Not as good without Justin Roiland.

I’ll pay $100 cash app for proof that Justin Roiland did something worth losing his role in everything.

I’ll wait. It’ll just be downvotes and vibes though.

    15. It’s gonna be Churry isn’t it? He’s gonna catch Morty and enact his revenge

    16. Rick and Morty isn’t what it once was, which is pretty much to be expected with any show that’s run for this long, it doesn’t often capture the same magic from the early seasons.

But there’s still a few really good episodes per season. I do think they could do something pretty good with a feature length movie, if they pull out all of the stops and have a good concept for it. At this point they’ve kind of exhausted all of the long running story threads they set up, but then some of the best recent episodes have been self contained stories anyway.

I doubt I’ll be rushing to the theater to see it but I expect it’ll be good fun once it gets to streaming.
