Aquarium was one of my favorite albums when I was a kid. Listened to it so much during a very formative time of my life and it’ll forever have a special place in my heart. I haven’t really kept up with anything the band has done since then for the most part but this is still kind of sad to me somehow.

I live in a small British town and this morning when I was dog walking someone with their window rolled down was blasting Doctor Jones. So that’s 2 Aqua moments today after many without.

okay as someone who saw them in concert and had their CD growing up I am DEVASTATED AQUARIUM IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS TO EVER EXIST
This group is such a toxic relationship in group form. They disbanded in 2001 when they were meant to do a third album, they did some solo projects during this time. They reunited in 2007 to do a reunion tour and then released an album in 2011 but it wasn’t successful, they split again in 2012 but also reunited again at some point, then they unofficially split again. They (partially) reunited in 2016 to do another tour and then released a single in 2018. They had a tour scheduled for 2019 but postponed. They’ve had a resurgence of popularity and they just finished a tour at the end of April 2025. The tour was so popular that they added new shows because of demand so they must really not be feeling it anymore to break up again now.
I may have missed some things, but they’re such a rollercoaster. Wait a few years and they’ll probably reunite again.
