For some context, Shattered Glass is about writer Stephen Glass, who was caught fabricating stories for The New Republic magazine in 1998. Peter Sarsgaard plays his editor, Chuck Lane, who is beginning to realize that Stephen’s article about computer hackers, “Hack Heaven”, is BS.

Watched this in an ethics class for business school. Decent movie.

Great movie, great acting, Hayden Christensen really reminds me of Andrew Garfield in this movie.

This was Christensens best role. His wooden acting style made this so cringey and uncomfortable. Every time I watch this movie, I have to turn it off at times because it makes me squirm.

I rented this right when it came out on DVD and found it incredibly boring. Mainly because I do not care for Hayden Christensen’s acting. I might rewatch it and see if my opinion has changed now that truth in journalism has become much more of a vanishing trait.

I read that as “Skarsgård”. I was like, wait, there’s ANOTHER one?

So cringe watching him try to keep up the lie as he parades his boss around town.

This scene put Sarsgaard on the map for me.

For some reason my highschool made us watch this to teach us about academic dishonesty – always felt a little bit strange.

Great depiction of what it is like to deal with compulsive liars. “I really wish you would stop saying that”. They are always victims and can never admit when they have been caught. All they know is how to keep stacking lies on the teetering fabricated castles they’ve made.
