I’m not American and I like both of them but this blaming Susan Sarandon (or Bernie supporters in general) for the situation in the US is absolutely wild to me. Like “do you hear yourself?” wild.

Even after HRC won the primary, Susan Sarandon advocated voting against her as the Democratic nominee. That has, ultimately, proven to be very bad for marginalized people. This is an aggressive but not entirely wrong take. Downvote away but ideological purity is not always the answer.

Lots of side eying in the comments (which I agree with, don’t get me wrong!) but in my experience, this is an incredibly common take from people in her age group. Most of the Democratic adults in my life feel this way, and I think it highlights how divided the left is right now and how impossible it feels to bridge that gap to make any progress against the right.

We do not technically live in a 2 party system. That year was eye opening for many people. We cannot vote for who we want, we have to vote against who we do not want. Bernie was the better choice. I do not blame her at all. Trump won once with some cheating. He didnt win at all the second or third time. He flat out rigged the elelction in 2024. Blaming the same team for Republican BS is not the way.
This is why I’ve always disliked Yvette. She was vocal about this at the time and still can’t seem to get past it. She was rude when I briefly met her in person too.
