The main problem is if Hollywood uses external AI to write their movies and TV shows, those productions are no longer protected by US copyright law.

I think this goes for any art. Creation is the best part. It’s the most fun and rewarding. If you generate your creativity, you are no longer a creative. Simple at that. Get out of the way for people who love creating.

Real writers use quills and ink, as God intended.

You’re *not* a writer. Not even in an antagonistic “fuck ai” way. Nobody calls a 3D printer a sculptor. Photographers aren’t calling themselves painters. Hell, typesetters don’t call themselves calligraphers.
But Prompters regularly describe what they put out as the product of the medium crafted by their own hands, and it’s not. Chucking “Write me a satisfying ending to Season 5 of The Boys” into your favourite LLM doesn’t make you a writer, even if it somehow manages to achieve the impossible.

Lol, this guy gets it…now someone with no hands wanting to be an artist…

Let’s be fair. A lot of current Hollywood “writers” shouldn’t be writers either….

Where are the good writers? It’s been a while since I watched something written well, especially tv.

This isn’t an audiobook vs regular book thing. Seth is absolutely right

I mean ya, AI can do a lot of things right now, but creativity is definitely not one of them.

Using AI is using others work, but in a worse way than traditional plagiarism imo. They know they created nothing but pretend like it’s theirs. It’s used in my industry all the time, they think it’s new and innovative. Cuts down on a lot of thinking time. But as an illustrator for my own projects, I refuse to use it in any industry. Lazy people..

If you use AI to write, you’re not a writer; the AI is. Same goes for painting, writing music, or any other art form. You do it yourself, or it’s not yours.

Yeah, obviously. I suck at writing. That’s why I’m using Microsoft Co-Pilot to pump out screenplays.
