It’s artsy, so I will be cautious. There are plenty of bad art films with inflated scores.

Is this going to be another mid movie from them that gets a ton of praise because its a queer film?

That title sounds like someone generated a cult classic in a laboratory.

I loved *I Saw the TV Glow*, far more than other people I love and trust and usually have similar taste with!

Whatever Jane Schoenbrun did there fucking *gutted me*, and I’m probably going to be an Opening Weekend fan of their work for the foreseeable future. But the best stuff is divisive; how boring would it be if literally everyone liked something an equal amount?

This seems weird and unique and the exact thing so many of us claim Hollywood Stopped Doing. I’m excited to see it and decide for myself how I feel.

“Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, a psychedelic tribute to the slasher-horror cycle of the early ’80s that subversively reclaims the genre from the traditional male gaze.”

      Pass.

Comments here are normal so far.

I enjoyed _I Saw the TV Glow_ and the cast for this looks really interesting, looking forward to it.

    7. Isn’t it made by the same people who made i saw the tv glow? Probably the second worst movie i saw in the last decade just after Jiu jitsu.

Possibly an unpopular take, but there is no such thing as an “instant cult classic.” Classic implies standing the test of time, standing out as exceptional. Cult implies a significant amount of people strongly love a thing, identify with it and continue to do so over the years. Cult used to also imply that it did not do well on release or enjoy wide acceptance, or wasn’t widely seen but that aspect had been somewhat eroded by countless internet articles declaring this or that a cult film.

This film has not met any of these criteria. Future cult classic? Maybe. Instant? There is no such thing.

guys I dunno if you noticed, but the title of the article says it’s an instant cult classic and that’s wrong and we should all make the same comment about it.

      anyways.
Didn’t really care for World’s Fair but was overwhelmed and fell in love with I Saw the TV Glow, so I’ll be seated for this one. Curious where it falls between those two projects in terms of quality, but the footage we’ve seen so far looks neat.
