Wait is this the Evil Dead Rise guy? Honestly didn’t even know he had a Mummy movie coming out, that’s kinda cool though. Might check it out if its any good.

that was pretty quick, hadn’t seen it myself but it seems like if they’re removed anything pertaining to general usage of “The Mummy”, it may have fared better. I wonder if it was one of those “stuck beteeen a rock and a hard place” situations with the title
Like Cronin making a horror movie that did involve an ancient mummy curse or something but the studio wanting The Mummy as its title. Then test audiences being confused because they only knowledge they had of “Mummy” are the Fraser movies so the studio slapped the director’s name to differentiate
Either way, I’ll still probably give it a chance even if it does apparently have a coup other faults . I really loved what Cronin did with Evil Dead Rise, it brought back some of the Raimi camp I missed so much

This is one of those movies that I had low expectations for but really wanted to be surprised by, so I was disappointed but not surprised that the reviews were fairly poor.
Still, I do want to see it. If nothing else, I’m down to see some gross special effects and creepy visuals.

This was a fun one. Basically an unofficial Evil Dead movie. I gagged in the theater during the wake scene at the family’s home lol

It flew under my radar. Didn’t know that a new mummy film was released.

Rough opening to this flick. Seemed like it struggled to get the story it wanted to tell in front of its audience. One could attribute that to tone and or editing issues. Once it got out of its own way it was….fine. Required too much suspension of belief for me. I’d give it a 5/10.

Too bad it was terrible.

Is this movie connected to the other mummy movies with Brendan Frasier or the recent one from a few years ago? Or completely different movie?

This movie was not great. It mostly plays as another exorcist clone without anything new or exciting. I left thinking I would of preferred to just watch Bring Her Back another time rather than this. The film takes a gross out approach to horror so if you aren’t into vomit maybe pass on this one
