      >extra! extra! the minions are taking over Hollywood. See [Minions & Monsters](https://youtu.be/V-O-uBaHk3c), only in theaters July 1.

      >Fresh off the worldwide blockbuster success of summer 2024’s funniest comedy, Despicable Me 4, Illumination expands its joyful animated universe with a riotous new chapter, featuring all-new characters, in the biggest global animated franchise in history: Minions & Monsters.

      >This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created.

I guess maybe i’m not up there with my “minions lore” but… how does this fit into the other films? i thought the ones with gru as a kid were in the 70’s/80’s and they were in a cave the whole time before that. How are they also around for the golden age of hollywood?

I trally like the shiny jelly texture of the monster. Props to the artist.

This movie looks so incredibly stupid, and I’m so incredibly excited for it. 😀

Who’s already thinking of Halloween costume ideas?

Didn’t they like…just make a new minions movie? Pretty saturated

“I don’t care if the horse is dead, KEEP BEATING IT” – movie executives

    9. There seems to be an extra slight artistic flair in the rendering. Very slight.. but it does look great.

I’m surprised they weren’t being more busy with these. I mean big movie versions, not the tv stuff. It seemed like these movies were pretty much printing money.

edit: Rise of the Gru made almost a billion, with 940mil. Fuck me, I thought these were money makers, but not that much.

So there’s a Shoggoth in this, huh?

    12. I would love if this is a crossover between minions and monsters vs aliens

I doubt it – but I’m sure it would be fun

    13. They should make a tRPG based on it. Minions & Monsters. M&M. Instead of DM (Dungeon Master) it will have DM (Despicable Me).

As someone who has never watched any of these movies…what exactly is the appeal?

    15. The minions aren’t my cup of tea, but I saw a preview for this in theaters and it looked really well made. I’ll be the first to say that Illumination has been doing some beautiful work lately, even if I am unlikely to go see it. Very happy for the people who do like it, that they’re getting something nice.

Honestly this movie looks like a lot of fun from the trailer. I still lol at the idea of minions in a circle summoning demons
