loved season 1, waiting patiently for this, meaning, I’m watching other shows from my watchlist/backlog in the mean time.

Great. Let’s not forget what rushing to write new seasons of TV gets us. It gets us the last two seasons of GOT.

thank christ I thought this was going to be one of those “5 years between seasons” deals.

So happy to hear this. I’m already seated. Pluribus is incredible and I was so worried this would be a looong time coming.

    5. I have an idea, once Season 2 is fully written – start working on writing Season 3.

I enjoyed season 1 but I’ve no hype with this long a wait between seasons.

Oh thank god. I remember reading Vince said he wasn’t sure if they would get started on season two for a couple years.

    8. Good to hear!

It’s interesting, because Vince was given a two season order from the start, meaning there was little to no reason to write/shoot S1 and 2 in tandem OR start writing S2 at some point before the finale of S1 aired

IIRC, the reason shows like GoT, Breaking Bad, etc. were able to hit annual schedules was that the writing team was able to work on the following season while one was airing.

Game of Thrones, specifically, would get the next season greenlit around the time of the premiere of the first episode of the current season

Essentially – if you have trust in your creatives, you can save money/time by greenlighting the writers room before you greenlight production

    9. So probably 2 years between seasons? Not ideal but getting better. progress….

I’m concerned this show will join the ever growing list of shoes that has a great 1 season/limited series premise but will fall apart in season 2 because there’s nowhere to go creatively.

God, I hope they make it more compelling. When I was most interested in the episode where the man journeyed through South America, that’s not a good sign.

Finally, they’re gonna blow that nuke.

We already had Chekhov’s hand grenade. We’re getting Chekhov’s Nuke, and I bet the EMP distrupts whatever signal being broadcast that Manusos discovered.

    13. It’s practically criminal that the writers knew it was getting a multi season deal and didn’t write more than one season in advance. Similarly they could have easily filmed multiple seasons in quick succession but didn’t just so that they could draw shit out.

One of the best pilot episodes I’ve ever seen and then it just fell completely flat with me as the episodes went on.

I really don’t understand the big deal with waiting a while between seasons of TV. Sure I would rather have it more quickly but ultimately it just doesn’t matter at all

When a new season of a show I like is released I will simply watch it and move on with my life. I don’t know
