I mean I love the first film but I don’t think it needs a sequel. All you can really tell is broadly the same story.
I’ll obviously go and watch it though.

It would probably be a box office failure, but I would like to see a prequel which showed how Blunt’s character becomes the Angel of Verdun.

I’ll just watch the first one again.

Weird, I did not like that animated movie that came out not that long ago. Hopefully there’s a story to tell for a sequel.

The first film was one of the last films where Cruise still genuinely looked young.

The original remains in my all time top ten and I watch it a lot but I’m really not sure they need a sequel.
With Cruise and Blunt attached it’ll certainly do well and I’ll definitely go and see it but I can’t see how they can do another one without rehashing another time loop situation.

Interesting to see what they do with it. The “gimmick” of the first film is going to be difficult to repeat without it feeling extremely forced. Hope they get real weird with it.
Really hoping to get my hands on the recent-ish anime adaptation as well.

I adore the first one but what would you even do with a sequel? The story about an alien invasion is fine but nothing special. It’s all about the time reset mechanic. You can do that again but then you make the same movie without the novelty. Or you do something different but then it doesn’t really need to be a sequel to this and you might as well do an original story.

Not news! Just an unconfirmed rumor that should be taken with a grain of salt.
