This is a sequel that’s not spoken about enough. This fight is brutal.

I watched actual boxing matches; then I was amazed that Rocky never seemed to guard but just took punches to the face repeatedly. I know, suspend belief, but these scenes look ridiculous.
Unfortunately defense wasn’t invented until 1980.
“Boxing is like ballet. Except there is no music, no choreography and the dancers hit each other.”
It’s a great set of films. But of course in reality these fights wouldn’t get out of the first couple of rounds. Taking so many in unguarded shots to the head would result in a stoppage
it always felt like the director has never watched a boxing match in his life before shooting this.
